MWENYA Musenge has said the report by former US Ambassador to Zambia Michael Gonzales has laid a solid ground for Zambians to unite and boot out the UPND from government for alleged corruption and looting of public of resources.

Mr Musenge, leader of the Advocates for People’s Prosperity said the worsening poverty and hunger and the report by Mr Gonzales, which had exposed corruption in the UPND government, have laid a solid ground for Zambians to vote out the UPND from government and make them accountable for their actions

He was reacting to, Mr Gonzales report at the end of his term in Zambia where among other issues, he accused the UPND government and its leaders of corruption

Mr Musenge said Zambians must come out of their docility and ensure that the UPND government was voted out in the August 13, 2026 elections because the ruling party’s corruption had been exposed by a diplomat who had empirical evidence about the levels of corruption in government

“Unlike the UPND which accused the PF of corruption without proper evidence, but merely aimed at antagonising it against the electorate ahead of the 2021 elections, the US ambassador to Zambia had empirical evidence of corruption against the UPND government and its leaders

“Ambassador Gonzales had empirical evidence from various audited reports which demonstrated the levels of corruption among the UPND government leaders.

This is a solid ground for Zambians to change government in the August 2026 elections,” Mr Musenge said

He said Mr Gonzales came out boldly on corruption in the UPND government and other serious matters affecting Zambia, now it was up to Zambians to act appropriately

“In the last four years of the UPND government, poverty and hunger has continued to worsen, while dictatorial tendencies and political persecution of political rivals were becoming more prominent in its governance system,” he said.

Mr Musenge has urged Zambians not to fall prey to baseless rantings of the UPND government about the Constituency Development Fund and free education, but must instead genuinely reflect on how the four years of the UPND government has treated them.
